Venus Flytrap. A plant that can distinguish between living prey and non-living objects.
For the trap to close, an insect must touch two hairs on the surface of the leaf within 20 seconds. And the digestion process takes 5-10 days.
Each trap leaf can close and open only a limited number of times, after which it dies and is replaced by a new one. Don't stick your fingers in it!
Thanks to Diana Kuksa for helping to illustrate this idea. Thanks to Baker Prints for the excellent printing, as always.
